Purpose
The Build Inventory module is designed to let users quickly add new inventory items to the library (stored in Nexus/Salesforce). It is optimized for speed and ease of use, especially with barcode scanners (wired, Bluetooth, or mobile device camera). This is ideal for bulk entry or when onboarding new stock.
User Flow
- Choose the facility/location where inventory is being added.
- Use a barcode scanner to input the item's barcode.
- The system checks for duplicates and alerts if the barcode is already in use.
- Name (required), Description, Units, and optionally a picture.
- Use the "Count" field to quickly increment the quantity by scanning the same barcode multiple times.
- Add one or more storage locations and quantities for the item.
- Data is saved to the backend (Nexus/Salesforce).
Key Features
- Barcode-Driven: Fast entry using barcode scanners.
- Duplicate Detection: Prevents duplicate barcodes within the same project.
- Dynamic Lists: Item names and locations are dynamically loaded.
