Version 2.9.1 | 2026-05-05
Photo Management Improvements
We’ve made several updates to make photo collection faster, clearer, and easier to manage in reports.
Blank photo containers now display a camera icon and a report icon. The report icon shows whether a photo will be included in the final report.
When a user takes or uploads a photo, the photo is included in the report by default. Users can remove a photo from the report by clicking the report icon so it turns grey. Photos with the report icon turned on will be included in the report; photos with the report icon turned off will remain in the project record but will not appear in the report.
Users can also change the report setting after a photo has already been uploaded by opening the image and updating the report icon there.
Desktop users can click either the blank photo container or the camera icon to open the file explorer.
Mobile photo capture has also been improved. On mobile devices, the camera icon will either open rapid-fire photo mode or open the back-facing camera, depending on the type of photo card. Photo cards that allow multiple images, such as “Have Additional Photos,” can use rapid-fire mode. Single-photo cards, such as nameplate photos or the Building Front Photo, open the back-facing camera directly.
When users allow location access, geotag data can now be applied to uploaded photos that do not already include it.
We also resolved an issue that prevented some mobile users from selecting OK or Cancel when creating a report.
Report Editing and Rich Text Improvements
Report editing now includes improved rich text editing for longer text and paragraph-style inputs. The new editor supports common formatting tools, including undo and redo, bold, italic, underline, links, font size adjustments, and bulleted or numbered lists.
Older pseudo tags, such as [bold], [italic], [underline], and [link], are no longer supported. Users should use the new rich text editor controls instead. Any old pseudo tags still present in text fields should be manually removed or replaced with the new formatting tools.
Some shorter text fields, such as headers, will continue to use standard text input fields. Longer report text areas and paragraph fields will use the new rich text editor.
A few notes for report editing:
The character remaining count is now an estimate. Formatting such as bold text, larger font sizes, and bulleted or numbered lists can reduce the available space in the report. Users should still review the final report to make sure text does not spill below the footer.
When pasting text, it is possible to exceed the character count limit. In that case, the character count may become negative. Users will need to remove text before typing or pasting more content.
If a report edit needs to be restored, users can use the Recover link to access recent saved versions.
Building Type and Envelope Display Improvements
We improved how building type selections control the related envelope inputs.
When the building type is set to Single-wide Mobile Home or Double-wide Mobile Home, the Mobile Home Belly card now appears in the Envelope section. For all other building types, the Mobile Home Belly card is hidden.
We also improved the display logic for the Footprint section. Basement Area, Crawl Area, Slab Area, and Frame Floor Area must now have an input greater than zero before their related cards are shown. This helps keep the interface focused on only the sections that apply to the home being modeled.
Footprint Page Improvements
Field inputs on the Footprint page now show and hide more reliably when switching the primary foundation type. This should reduce confusion when changing foundation assumptions during data entry.
IRA HOMES Report Page Updates
The IRA HOMES report page has been updated to improve the report experience and better support current program needs.
Template Modal Fixes
We fixed an issue in the template creation modal related to the Access Level dropdown. Previously, switching from Company Wide or Program Specific back to Personal could prevent a new template from being created. This workflow now works correctly.
Security and Spam Protection
We added reCAPTCHA v3 support to improve protection against spam and automated submissions.
General Stability and Interface Fixes
This release also includes interface cleanup, styling fixes, and behind-the-scenes improvements to reduce unnecessary reloads and improve stability when multiple users or sessions are active.
Version 2.9.1 | 2026-04-24
Project Navigation Outline Changes
- When switching between Base Building, Improvements, Notes, and Photos tabs, outline levels that have no content on the selected tab are now shown greyed-out (rather than hidden).
- Clicking a greyed-out outline level will navigate you to the first available page containing that tab. For example, clicking "Client" will move to the Base Building tab, since that is the first tab with content at the Client level.
- Clicking a section or sidebar with lighter opacity will switch you back to the Base Building filter, which shows all content.
- Fixed an issue where navigating sidebar sections would incorrectly redirect to the Analysis page instead of staying on the current page.
- Fixed an issue where the CAZ page would only display 1 image and would not create a spillover page when 3 or more images existed.
- The footer now consistently appears at the bottom of the page.
Create a Template Using the Projects screen 3-Dot Menu
- From Active Projects, All Projects, Archived Projects, On Hold, or Templates — click the 3-dot menu next to the project or template, then select "Copy to Template".
- Fill in the required fields and click Save.
Create a Template When Saving a Report
- Inside a report, click the "Save as New Template" dropdown.
- This will first save the current report, then open the same modal as the 3-dot menu, allowing you to save the file and report as a template.
- Fill in the required fields and click Save.
Note: You cannot save the template until all required fields are completed.
Note: After saving, the template appears under Projects > Templates.
Change: For both Company-wide and Program-specific templates, entering a Program is now required. Use the Standard Program when creating a Company-wide template. (Previously, Company-wide templates did not require a Program.)
Change: Both template creation methods now use the same UI.
Edit Template Reports
- On the Templates page, you can now click a template to open it just like any other project.
- You can edit the report within a template the same way you would any other report.
Template-Specific Changes
- The label [Template] now appears next to the project name at the top when a template is open.
- On the reports page within a template, only the Standard Report is visible — HPXML, PC Project File, CSV Project File, and Home Energy Scores are not shown.
PDF Report Fixes
- Fixed an issue where images were not rendering correctly in generated PDF reports. Images are now fully loaded before being sent to the PDF server, ensuring they appear as expected in all exported reports.
Program Selection Improvements
- Custom programs now appear at the top of program selection lists, making them easier to find.
- Elevation is now stored and displayed in feet.
