Trade Ally Management for Programs

Overview

OptiMiser uses a company-based permission model for contractor and trade ally management. A contractor organization must first register a Company account in OptiMiser before a Program Manager can invite them to participate in a program. Once enrolled, the contractor's Company Manager can invite their own employees, who can then create and manage jobs within the program.

 Prerequisites

Before inviting a contractor, confirm the following:

- You are logged in to OptiMiser *acting on behalf of the correct program organization* — you should see your organization's name displayed above the Users screen, not your personal account name.
- The contractor has already created a Company account in OptiMiser (see Step 1 below).

> *Note:* If you hold both a program management role and your own individual user account, make sure you are operating under your organization's context when managing program invitations. Acting under your personal account will not surface the correct options.

 Step-by-Step Process

Step 1 — Contractor creates their Company account

The contractor must self-register their company at:

**[manager.optimiserenergy.com](http://manager.optimiserenergy.com)**
When they complete registration, they are automatically assigned the **Company Manager** role for their company.

> **If you try to invite a contractor and don't see an option to invite their company:** This means they have not yet registered. Ask them to complete Step 1 and try again.

Step 2 — Program Manager invites the contractor's company to the program

1. Navigate to the **Users** screen, confirming you are acting on behalf of your program organization.
2. Open the invite dialog and enter the contractor contact's email address.
3. If their Company is registered in OptiMiser, you will see an option to **invite their Company** (not just the individual user).
4. Select the Company invite option and send the invitation.

Step 3 — Contractor receives and accepts the email invitation

The contractor's Company Manager will receive an email invitation to join the program. They must accept it before proceeding.

Step 4 — Contractor invites their employees

Once enrolled, the Company Manager can invite individual employees (field staff, assessors, installers, etc.) into their company account.

Step 5 — Employees accept their invitation and set up accounts

Each invited employee receives an email invitation. Once they accept and complete account setup, they are active users under the contractor's company.

Step 6 — Employees can now create jobs in the program

With accounts established under an enrolled contractor company, employees can begin creating and managing jobs within the program.
